How long do you take in the shower?

About 15 minutes.
I got just over 60 days before I leave for Japan. I got it in my mind to go running with a club called Namban Rengo for the 3 weeks I'll be there. I saw an article on them in a newspaper and they inspired me to go running. The Namban Rengo (which roughly translates to Barbarian Horde) is a group of foreigners who like to run. They are somewhat famous and supposedly quite good.
The trouble is, though, that currently I can run for about 35 minutes straight at a speed of 9km/h. My goal however is to run at a speed of 12km/h for about 15km. That basically means that every other training I need to increase my speed by .2 km/h and every 4 training sessions increase the time frame for about 5 minutes.
*sigh*
Added to this the muscle training I do daily at the gym and the hundred push ups challenge I am hoping I will survive the next 2 months.
I should watch some Rocky movies to motivate myself some more. :D
dee blogged about the Hundred Push Ups challenge in one of her previous entries. She was quite excited with her progress that it actually convinced me to join in.
Though I'm a bit sceptical about the program (push ups generally focus on the biceps and considerably less on the thorax muscles, making it a one muscle training), getting to the magical 100 sounds like fun.
Day 1:
10 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 20
60 seconds rest in between.
20 reps is pretty much my maximum. I doubt that I'll even get to the 20 when go weight training in the gym (which I skipped today in favour of running).
More to come. :)
After being forced to stop for a week and a half due to injury I finally got the chance to go for a run again and to be honest it felt just great. I didn't bother to keep to the recommended sport zone, but just went on running at whatever speed felt comfortable. Since it was just a short run, it doesn't really matter really, as long as I didn't put too much stress on my freshly healed injuries.
If you had asked me about a year ago if I were ever going to run 5 to 10K every other day, I'd have called you crazy. I vaguely remember the Cooper tests we had at High School and how horrible those were. I doubt I would like running the Cooper test today, but yet... I quite like running.
I don't quite remember when I started. It was just part of my training programme at the gym. Basic warming up and cooling down before lifting weights. Running for 5 to 10 minutes at whatever speed you are comfortable with. Now it seems it has gotten out of hand, since I spend a third to half of my time in the gym running. But hey, nothing wrong with that. It's a good way to get rid of stress/boredom that work brings every day and having to miss that "relaxation time" being cancelled for a week is quite frustrating.
I must admit that it is probably my own fault, running with sport shoes instead of specially designed running shoes. So when I started having trouble with my knees I was told that it might be the shoes. Thus last weekend I went shopping and got me a decent pair of shoes.... which today I finally got to "testdrive".
The pair of shoes the shopkeeper suggested, were the Asics Nimbus 9's. A tad expensive (€150) but definitely worth the price. It feels like I'm walking on giant pillows instead of barefooted on concrete. So huge was the difference with my previous shoes. I'm really looking forward to covering more miles with them. Good support, good shock absorption, ... Well I guess you get the point. :)
I finally got around to getting myself a NAS. I decided upon getting the Western Digital Mybook World Edition. The 500GB edition was about 132 euro so it was still acceptable a price.
Some fellows have been hacking away at this white box for a while and have succeeded in getting it to do more than just serve files. You can take a look here for an overview of the things they got working.
For now my little WD only acts up as storage device, but soon enough I'll be trying out those nifty little features. My mum constantly complains about the power consumption if we leave a computer on at night, so it'll be a nice way to get around that constraint. ;)
EDIT: do note that the stress is on the word hacked, i.e. it is more of a creative solution to making the thing do more than intended. So before anyone of you goes out buying one, do know that it may require some creative tinkering/problem solving.
What was your first car?
My current car on the other hand is quite the opposite of my Getz. It's strong, powerful and I haven't had the guts/time to test out the top speed (supposedly around 210km/h). It also looks a bit aggressive and I love skidding through corners with this cutie. Though cause mine is black, it does get dirty quite fast.

I came across a nice little article on how to find papers together without using a paperclip. I tried it out and it does work quite well.
Hope it is of any use to someone.

How do you stay organized?

Don't know how, but regardless of the state of my room, there is always order in the chaos. :)
Appointments and such I keep listed in my outlook calendar, which is what everyone uses here at work.
